Who we are

Equil (equil.ca) is a pre-launch service based in Kitchener, Ontario. Right now, the only thing this website does is run a waitlist. You can reach us any time at hello@equil.ca.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we store:

• your email address;
• the exact consent wording you agreed to, and when;
• a one-way scrambled version of your connection address (we cannot recover the address from it; it exists only as evidence the signup was real);
• your browser type; and
• how you found us (for example, a search engine or a link).

We do not collect your name, your address, or anything about any property. We never ask for a Social Insurance Number, on this site or anywhere else.

Why we collect it

To email you about Equil early access and launch updates, with your express consent under Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). We also use the “how you found us” note, in aggregate, to understand which channels bring people to Equil. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising networks.

Where it lives

Your information is stored with our database provider in a Canadian data centre. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf (database hosting, email delivery, and website hosting). They act under our instructions. Some of them (website hosting and email delivery) process data in the United States, where it can be subject to that country’s laws.

Your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately. You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete your information at any time: email hello@equil.ca and we will act on it within 30 days. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and the consent record so we can honour the unsubscribe and prove the original consent.
